Botanical Institute: Transformation of Cebeci Inonu Stadium

Location: Ankara, Turkey

Size: 172,450 sf

Project Type: Cultural

A botanical institute is proposed with a goal of revitalizing the existing Inonu Stadium that is not actively working these days. The project is in collaboration with the surrounding projects that aim to create a connection with green corridors and spaces derived within these corridors. To do that, the main football field of the stadium is turned into a forest and the steps are combined to create stepped gardens. Circulation is one of the existing problems in the area that is caused by insufficient parking managements and lack of paving. The proposal creates a main circulation axis by connecting the inner forest and outer green courtyards.
